Speak Out – May 8, 2013

Friday – 3:51 p.m.

Hi my name is Dale. Ya'll didn't seem fit to print what I had to say last week, so I'm going to try it one more time.

I am not for liquor by the drink in our downtown area. I think the city council did a good thing by voting it down.

I am for the paper reflecting the local opinion and not leaving off opinions that may be counter to their own. Thank you much.

Yes, this is Jesse from Pace. I'm calling about a problem. My son took his daughter to a playground behind Big Lots off of Highway 90 in Milton.

He said it's a nice place to take a kid to. But the swings have got some damage. And the slides need some upgrading. You know, somebody to fix it up. He said it's a nice place to take your kids. But it needs some fixing to ensure the safety of the kids. I think

I appreciate y'all. Please get somebody to take care of it. Thank you, ma'am.

Thursday – 5:39 a.m.

I'm glad they turned down drinking in Milton. I challenge you to read Proverbs 23:29-33. I thought it was all about good food that draws people to a restaurant. And thank you for keeping the animals from the shelter in there. Bye.

Yes, with all the tragedy in the past week, and all this stuff is going around. People don't listen for guns, to control the guns. And they go and buy a five year old a gun or rifle or whatever for Christmas or his birthday.

And guess what. The moment that the mother go out of the house to do something, the little boy go and kills his sister. Is that a surprise to you that a little boy shot the gun.

Anyway, this is a stupid present for a little boy. For Christmas, or birthday, anniversary or whatever. My children didn't have any guns. And I had three boys. They had a rifleā€”a play thing from a long time ago. My oldest son had one like that. And look at this. This tragedy for this woman to remember. She just step out and the little boy shoot the pistol and kill her.

The degree of nepotism displayed in the hiring practices of the Santa Rosa County School system is absolutely ridiculous. Please stop insulting highly qualified applicants by interviewing them, when you already know who you're going to hire. Thank you.

Thursday – 4:04 p.m.

Yeah, this is Kenneth. I think the terrorists would like to bring this country down by bombing, which is a type of jihad. I think our president is right. There is more than one type of jihad. I think the major type of jihad that will bring this country down is an economic jihad

And I would like people to consider who is in charge of this economic jihad.

I think that this could destroy us more rapidly than terrorist bombings ever would. I think we should consider what's really going on, trying to bring the United States down, the greatest country ever on the face of the earth. Thank you.

Saturday – 12:39 p.m.

I would just like to ask, did Bob Cole write this letter to himself that's in Saturday's Press Gazette? Thank you.

Editor's note: It did not appear so.

Sunday – 8:48 a.m.

Yeah, my name is Ashleigh *****. I want to know why is it that the county commissioners, or the building inspector, won't do anything about the old Get-It Rental on the north end of Martin Luther King Drive.

It's been since hurricane Ivan. A lot of the people that live there, they're in their golden years. And that's what they have to look at everyday is that run-down shop.

You know, Pensacola's cleaning up. Why can't we clean up?

It bugs me. It's terrible. That place has been condemned since hurricane Ivan and the building inspector, or the commissioners won't do anything about it.
