Annual Mother's Day event May 11

Are you looking for a very special gift for someone on your Mother's Day gift list?  Stop by the Santa Rosa Clean Community System's 14th Annual Mother's Day Plant Sale and Show at the Green Up Santa Rosa Nursery, 6758 Park Avenue in Milton on Saturday, May 11, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.  Park Avenue is located just two (2) lights north of Highway 90/Caroline Street.  Look for the Navy trainer plane on the corner by Milton High School and go east on Park Avenue.

The Green-Up Nursery will offer a wide variety of plants, shrubs and beautiful flowering hanging baskets and ferns and John Tonkin, SRCC Executive Director, his staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and assist you with your purchases.

In addition, fifteen or more vendors will fill the nursery grounds with an array of gifts from which you can choose for that special lady on your list.  They include: wreaths; hand-made jewelry, handbags and totes; weight loss products; needlework; cosmetics; scented products; other jewelry items; chocolate; gardening books; ideas for the home; Mother's Day cards; and much more.

The SRCC is dedicated to protecting and enhancing our environment through education, awareness and action.  Some of the many projects and programs of the SRCC are: the Panhandle Butterfly House; annual Rivers Clean-Up; Great American Clean-Up; Paint Your Heart Out; Recycling Innovation Station; and Recycling Glass program.

The Nursery is located just east of Milton High School between Stewart and Alabama Streets and some on-street parking will be available.  Overflow parking will be available at City Hall, with a convenient path leading to the nursery from the Dixon Street side of the property.   Milton's City Hall is located just one block north of the nursery.

There is no charge to attend the event.  A food vendor will be set up in the nursery parking lot and guests are invited to enjoy a funnel cake, curly fries and/or corn dog and beverage while strolling through the nursery.
