Police need help identifying dead woman

NICEVILLE — Investigators are looking for a man seen Saturday night near the area where a woman’s body was found Sunday morning, according to the Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers.

The man was seen in the area between 8 to 9:40 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from Crime Stoppers. He was white and may have been driving a white pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150 with a kayak in the truck bed.

He is wanted only for questioning at this time, according to Crime Stoppers.

A passer-by found the woman at about 7 a.m. Sunday near the shore of Rocky Bayou at the end of 11th Street in Niceville.

The woman’s identity is still unknown. She is described as white, possibly in her 30s and about 5 feet, 3 inches tall. She had brown hair and blue eyes. She was wearing Capri blue jeans and a gray shirt when her body was found.

Law officers have released photos of the jewelry the woman was wearing when she was found.

Investigators estimate the woman had been in the water between 12 and 24 hours.
