The Bagdad Village Preservation Association lecture series continues with “Bagdad and the Port of Pensacola” as Pensacola author and historian John Appleyard shares the connection of downtown Pensacola and Bagdad.
The program will be presented on Saturday, April 6, at 10 a.m. at the Bagdad Village Museum, 4512 Church Street followed by a question and answer session, as well as refreshments. There is no cost and all are welcome. Once a bustling lumber mill village, Bagdad was at the center of the Southeastern lumber industry for more than 110 years before the mill closing in 1939. Bagdad was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
The Bagdad Village Preservation Association, Inc. (BVPA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1986. Our mission is preservation, education and furtherance of historic, cultural and community affairs to preserve Bagdad's history and future.
