The Panhandle Butterfly House will have their annual spring Grand Opening on Friday April 19 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The celebration will include a butterfly plant sale by the Santa Rosa County Master Gardeners, punch and cookies, and the classical guitar serenades of Jimmy Chandler. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
Starting April 25, the Panhandle Butterfly House will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tours for groups of 10 or more are available Monday through Wednesday and can be reserve at www.panhandlebutterflyhouse.org. The Panhandle Butterfly House is located at 8581 Navarre Parkway (Hwy 98) in Navarre Park just west of the Navarre Bridge.
A variety of native butterflies inhabit the inside and outside gardens. All stages of the butterfly life cycle may be observed on nectar and host plants. The Panhandle Butterfly House is run totally by volunteers and depends on grants and the generosity of its visitors to sustain their educational exhibits. There is no admission, but your donation is appreciated.
