Two men in serious condition from accident

A Milton man was involved in a three-car accident on Interstate 10 in Escambia County on Feb. 18 that resulted in two people being taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in serious condition.

Gerald Dominique James, 34, Cantonment, was traveling east on I-10 around 5:50 a.m. when, due to an unknown medical issue, he drove his 2004 Nissan Altima across the center median into the westbound lane.

He collided head-on with a 2007 Honda Accord, driven by Billy Johnston, 55, Gordon Ala.

A third car, a 1996 Ford F-150, driven by Henry Matowitz, 74, Milton, was traveling west when he hit the rear of Johnston's vehicle, drove off onto the northbound shoulder and hit a tree.

James and Johnston were taken to Sacred Heart Hospital with serious injuries and Matowitz was transported to West Florida Hospital
