Pensacola, FL – Just two days after asking the public for help in finding a dangerous fugitive, federal state, and local law enforcement agencies working together located him in Penascola. Just as Pensacola Police announced they obtained warrants charging the man with numerous crimes, including homicide and kidnapping, Deavis Nathaniel Saulsberry was taken into custody without incident.
The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force along with Escambia County Deputies and Pensacola Police caught Saulsberry at a house late Thursday near the corner of Lloyd and N. “S” Streets.
Investigators say relentless investigation lead to finding Saulsberry quickly.
“We did receive a few tips but nothing really credible,” said Inspector Dominic Guadagnoli, spokesperson for the Task Force in Pensacola. “We have some truly tenacious investigators who just don’t give up that easy,” said Guadagnoli.
The 24-year-old felon was wanted by Escambia County for aggravated assault, aggravated battery using a deadly weapon and robbery with a firearm. However, investigators with the Pensacola Police Department notified the task force earlier today they now have warrants charging Saulsberry with homicide, kidnapping of an adult, kidnapping of a child, armed burglary, grand theft auto, and tampering with evidence.
Saulsberry was arrested at about 5 p.m. inside an unattached garage on the property. He was transported to Escambia jail and booked. Saulsberry has two separate cash bonds; one for $800,000 from Escambia County and for the city charges a total of $420,000. However, the homicide charge carries no bond.
Also arrested was 27 year-old Christopher Sidener who was with Saulsberry in the garage. Sidener was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute. Sidener was also brought to the county jail where he will wait to go before a judge.
The Task Force had assistance from Florida Department of Law Enforcement; Escambia County Tac Unit, Patrol, a K9 Officer and local officers assigned to the Escambia County and ATF Gun Task Force.
Still on the loose: Roderick Terril Foster wanted for failure to appear on charges felony battery by strangulation, burglary of an unoccupied dwelling as well as a misdemeanor warrant for cyber stalking. Foster, 25, is said to be about 6 foot tall, with a similar build and weighs about 160 lbs. Foster reportedly also looks like his photo wearing his hair long in the dreadlock style. Saulsberry and Foster were believed to be together often and frequent both the Mayfair and Montclair areas of Pensacola.
