Speak Out – Feb. 2, 2013

Tuesday, 9:34 a.m. Hi, I want to express my viewpoint about the bus being taken away from Santa Rosa County. We really need that bus back. We have been greatly inconvenienced when it was discontinued Dec. 28. We need support with getting the county commissioners to get the bus back. People can’t go to school, work, medical appointments, shopping and the like. We need to get together and get this bus back. We need to speak out on it and get this bus going back. Wednesday, 8:21 a.m. This is Belinda. I was wondering if our sheriff here in Santa Rosa County is going to align himself with sheriffs across the country who are standing up and saying “No” to Obama’s gun grab. County sheriffs are the last line of defense when it comes to protecting citizen rights. He is obligated to enforce the law, and the supreme law of the land is the Constitution. I applaud these brave men for doing it and standing up for the American citizens, and I would like to know what his stance is on that. Thank you. Wednesday, 1:29 p.m. For all you Santa Rosa County voters that complain about county commissioners, school boards, school board school superintendents, county commissioners — I might have said that already — that’s because they are infamous. I heard they have bought a bridge that might have to be torn down because of lead paint. Is that true? I believe it — but don’t complain, Santa Rosa County taxpayers, because you put them back in with a landslide. Thank you. Wednesday 5:49 p.m. Yeah, this is Bobby. I read Jim’s Speak Out column about all the things wrong with Santa Rosa. And one of them was he wants to close the chemical plant I guess because they let out a smell. Nobody wants a chemical plant; they don’t want a garbage dump, a sewage plant, oil drilling, gas drilling, pipelines. So I don’t know how they expect to drive the cars and live. People have to make a living, too. And that chemical plant has been out there a lot of years. I don’t know Jim, but he probably came later. Thank you.

Wednesday, 6:14 p.m. Can you tell me why we need a school board and a school superintendent that we pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to a year when all they do is agree with each other? And to Chrys Holley, thank you, darling. I enjoyed you letter so much Wednesday. You’re the only person I know that has … you have more sense that anybody I know. I love you forever. Thank you. Wednesday, 6:20 p.m. This is to the man that owns the dead dog. It might be interesting for you to find out who the land belongs to that the hunting club hunts on. That might prove profitable for you. Thank you. Wednesday, 6:23 p.m. This is to Joe in Wednesday’s paper talking about watching the school board meeting. Well, you should go to a county commissioners’ meeting if you want to watch a circus. They would stand up and laugh in your face. So don’t feel slighted. It’s more fun at a county commissioners’ meeting. Thank you. Thursday, 5:01 a.m. To think God made animals for us to enjoy, then man to have dominion over them. Proverbs 12:10 says a good man is concerned for the welfare of his animals. If a stray comes in my yard, I am going to do everything in my power to find the owner. It is inexcusable what this person did. I can’t comprehend what he was thinking to drag that poor animal to his truck, dead or alive. But he will one day be judged. Thank you. Thursday, 11:24 a.m. Thank you very much for the Entertainment page in your latest edition. It really adds. It’s an asset to your paper. Thank you so much. Bye bye
