United Way welcomes new director of coastal development

United Way of Santa Rosa County (UWSR) is excited to announce that Kristen Loera of Navarre is now serving as the Director of Coastal Development to assist in expanding the organization’s outreach in Navarre and Gulf Breeze. With a background in sales and marketing, Loera brings a wealth of talent from her previous work in the hospitality industry and her work as the Sales Director for Tiger Point Golf Club.

“I love working for United Way because I love doing work with a purpose,” said Loera. “No matter what I am doing on a daily basis I know the results of my work will go to help those in our community. I am passionate about people and love making them feel comfortable and welcome when I am working with them.”

These traits will serve well for United Way Santa Rosa, whose mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of the community. In 2013, UWSR moves to increase its presence along Hwy 98. Although the organization has offered a variety of services countywide including First Call for Help, Cram the Van and Toys for Tots, many residents and businesses in the Coastal Areas are unaware of these services available to them.

“United Way makes sure that we touch all points of Santa Rosa County,” said Guy Thompson, UWSR Executive Director. “We are pleased that we will now be able to dedicate more staff time to the Coastal area to build greater impact.”

Loera received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Miami University (OH) and worked in Hospitality and Wedding Industries in Cincinnati, OH for 8 years before moving to Northwest Florida where she continued her career in hotel operations, sales and event planning.
