Officials at the Northwest Florida Blood Services are asking for specific blood donors because of increased demand at area hospitals. There is a need for donors with O negative, B negative and A negative blood. Potential donors who have been told they cannot donate should not try to donate to Northwest Florida Blood Services. Donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh 110 pounds and be in good health. Northwest Florida Blood Services is at 1999 E. 9 Mile Road in Pensacola. For more information, call 473-3853 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. “On behalf of patients and their families, we thank you for your support of our lifesaving mission,” officials said.
