NAVARRE — A man was injured Friday morning when a fire began in his Sevilla Street mobile home.
First responders were called to the 8400 block of Sevilla just before 6 a.m., according to Holley-Navarre Fire Chief Ron Norton. The blaze took more than 45 minutes to put out.
Norton said the man woke up to flames in his bedroom and evacuated the single-wide trailer. He was taken to Gulf Breeze Hospital for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
According to Norton, when fire fighters arrived the mobile home was fully involved. Holley-Navarre Fire, Midway Fire, Navarre Beach Fire, and Florosa Volunteer Fire responded to the scene.
Norton said a cause has not been determined. The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
This is the second candle to be extinguished during Santa Rosa County's "2012 Keep Your Holidays Bright" campaign, which focuses on fire safety during the holidays. The first candle was extinguished in the 1900 block of Church Street in Midway on Dec. 22 when a space heater started a blaze displacing one resident and killing a pet dog.
