This holiday season, Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast partnered with a Milton resident to help spread some Christmas cheer. Cordderryl Pittman, 25, wanted to give back to the Santa Rosa community and took action by organizing a toy drive. Pittman began by reaching out to local organizations and businesses to secure donations and drop-off locations. He then approached Goodwill Easter Seals, which was pleased to lend its support to the operation. Goodwill Easter Seals helped Pittman iron out the details, set a completion date and provide a list of local families that could be assisted by the donations. When the toy drive ended Dec. 17, 86 families and 267 children received toys and clothing, just in time for the holiday season. Pittman, inspired by the event’s success and his eagerness to help others, plans to make the toy drive an annual event. “Remember that times are tough,” he said, “and everyone is trying to make do. If you find yourself with the ability to assist someone in their time of need, please do so, because at some time, we all need help.”
