Bagdad United Methodist Church announces holiday plans

As is our tradition, Bagdad UM Church will host children and staff of Bagdad Elementary School for the Annual “Polar Express” Movie event on Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

Children, Staff, and parents from Bagdad Elementary School will walk from the school in their pajamas to the church around 8:15 a.m. Church volunteers will show the movie and serve hot chocolate and cookies. Santa Claus will make a special visit at the end of the movie and each child will be given their very own magical bell from the North Pole. We extend a special thanks to all those who have volunteered to help with this event.

In keeping with our tradition of "giving to others” a Christmas Angel Tree is set up in the entrance to the fellowship hall.  Angels are children from our community. When you choose an angel from the tree and purchase the suggested gifts, you have shown the love of Christ Jesus and made Christmas a joyous occasion for a child.  Please wrap the gifts, place in a bag with the Angel tag attached and place under the tree no later than Sunday, December 16th.  Thank you for being a blessing to others.

On Dec. 16th the church will hold its Christmas Cantata at 6 p.m. You are invited to Bagdad United Methodist Church's Christmas Cantata located in the church sanctuary. Come and be blessed by this musical presentation of Jesus' birth and celebrate "God With Us." After the cantata everyone is invited to bring finger foods for a time of refreshments in the fellowship hall as we celebrate Christmas together.
