Three Jay residents were arrested by Santa Rosa County Deputies after narcotics officers received a tip of a methamphetamine lab on Neal Jones Rd.
Keith Wayne Church, 44, Stanley Guy Prothro, 43, and Sabrina Dawn Neufeldt, 35, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a listed chemical to manufacture a controlled substance, and possession of narcotic equipment.
All three remain lodged in the Santa Rosa County Jail with their bond set at $165,000.
Narcotics detective Blake Weekley said that Tuesday narcotics investigators received a tip that Church, Prothro, and a female who was later identified as Neufeldt were manufacturing methamphetamine.
When officers arrived they could hear subjects talking inside the shed, which was located behind the residence at 5131 Neal Jones Rd. in Jay, which was identified as Church's home address.
Weekley and officers discovered two gas generators and peeled lithium batteries outside the shed.
As investigators walked to the shed Church and Prothro walked out and Neufeldt was later discovered inside.
According to Weekley a 'gas generator' is an improvised homemade device in which salt and sulfuric acid are combined to produce hydrogen chloride gas (HCL). This gas is used in a chemical reaction that converts meth oil into a solid substance.
After entering the shed, Weekley discovered a clandestine lab inside the shed and applied for a search warrant after securing the residence.
During the search of the shed and residence officers discovered the following items:
The liquid field-tested positive for methamphetamine and officers collected a sample of 208 grams as evidence.
Church, Prothro, and Neufeldt all declined to take ownership of the lab according to Weekley.
Weekley did state in the arrest report that the Santa Rosa County Narcotics Unit had received information in the past that Church and Prothro manufacture methamphetamines.
