Yeah this fire in Milton involving Milton Carpets, the Holley-Navarre Fire Department assisted Milton, Avalon, and Skyline after they were done with the fire they were fighting in East Milton because they had a five-inch hose. I live in the Pace area and I know they have a five inch hose. Why wasn't Pace called in to assist? They are a lot closer and the fire in East Milton was in American Farms. It seems like Milton does not want to call Pace for help, what is going on?

Editor's note: With Avalon and Skyline assisting that puts Pace in a standby to assist if another fire occurs. Second, Holley-Navarre offered their assistance. Milton, Avalon, and Skyline were able to quickly put the fire out without needing any five-inch hose, thankfully.

This is Gene and this call is for Jeff. I thought my comment was very sarcastic about the free stuff. My daughter, who is 30 years old, needed help with college and they told her to have a baby. When she was laid off she got unemployment but was unable to get food stamps, despite being on her own. I understand how hard they are to get. My wife, who I am married to now, has two small children. She needed food stamps and they gave her $20 a month. Her ex-husband did pay his child support or anything despite a court order. I know it is not free money. I worked hard for 37 years to get what I have, but for Obama just to come in and take it away is wrong.

This is Dale. I see that the county commissioners and now the newspaper has the opinion a covered arena is a marvelous addition to our community. I am sure there is plenty of money now since they did not spend the $24,000 to fund the bus system. They couldn't afford to help the poor people of the community get to work or school to better themselves. All they needed was $24,000 since the state, federal government and ticket sells helped support it. Now we seem to have plenty of money. I say they don't. I don't want one dime of my money spent on a covered arena when they don't have the money to support a public transportation system. The newspaper needs to wake up and pay attention to the entire community instead of a few who want to have a rodeo.

Yeah this is Bobby. I had a thought or a question. I keep hearing they want to outlaw talking on cell phones while driving, which is what I am doing now. I was wondering what makes it safer for a policeman to pull up behind you and read your tag, reach over and type it into a computer while driving and then talking on his radio all while he is pulling you over to write you a ticket. I don't believe he is born more safely than others to do an activity. Thank you.

Hi this is Popeye. I would like to congratulate all of the leaders for their hard work and everyone involved for the high ranking the city of Milton received. For those who read this, it is very easy to criticize yet it is hard to balance everything out to make everyone happy. I just think you have done a great job. I have been here since 1980 and Milton is a wonderful little city.
