Milton car dealership to help Santa Flying project

Santa Rosa Kids House volunteers Joyce Smith (left) and Dough Franklin are seen serving chili to the fans attending the Snowball Derby Green Flag Party to kick off the Snowball Derby Weekend at Five Flags Speedway. The sales of the chili benefited the Santa Rosa Kids House.

A drive is under way at Milton Dodge, 6348 Highway 90 West in Milton, to help in seeing that needy children here have a good Christmas. And you are invited to participate!

The drive is to collect toys, children’s clothing, and non-perishable food items (canned goods) that will eventually be transferred to The Christian Life Center and Kids House, among others, for distribution to needy children. The first target date for the presentation is Dec. 15, 2012, according to the Milton Dodge General Manager Jean Venant, but he said the collection of donated items for the children would last right on up to Christmas.

Associated with the “Santa Flying” program designed for the children’s’ recreation, the dealership will continue to accept the donated items in the store right up to Christmas.

Venant says that he is confident that the citizens of Milton and Santa Rosa County will respond to the project that is designed for a particularly worthy cause and contribute whatever they can over the next few weeks. Needy children at Christmas time are especially vulnerable, and anything at all will be appreciated.
