The Lady Argos of the University of West Florida find themselves in an all too familiar spot in soccer.
In the final NCAA Division II poll released Tuesday they held on to the No. 2 spot for the second week of the season behind Armstrong Atlantic State University.
While ranked No. 2 nationally, UWF (19-1-0) remained No. 1 in the NSCAA South Region for the ninth consecutive week and earned a bye in the up coming national tournament.
The Lady Pirates are the only team to defeat UWF this season back on Oct. 8 by a score of 2-1.
UWF will await the winner of the North Alabama (12-5-1) and Valdosta State (13-4-2) game in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will play all their tournament games at home.
The North Alabama-Valdosta State matchup was played Friday at UWF.
The Lady Argos (19-1-0) will play their first game (second round) on Nov. 11.
Due to their national ranking and seeding in the tournament UWF would not have to travel until the national semifinals and finals to be played Nov. 29 and Dec. in Evans, Ga.
If they make it to the NCAA Division II Championship, UWF would have to win on Nov. 11, Nov. 16, And Nov. 18, which would be the Southeast Region Championship.
Other teams in the tournament include NSCCA teams: Eckerd (10-7-3), No. 6 Barry (7-6-2), No. 2 Rollins (12-4-2), and No. 3 Tampa (13-3-4).
One of the seniors to watch on the Lady Argos is former Pace standout Rachel Cutts.
Cutts, a defender for UWF, has logged 19 shots with 10 shots on goal, two goals, and four assists.
Her two goals came in matches against Union College and Rollins.
Another Lady Patriot making some noise at UWF is junior Alex Pickrell.
The midfielder has 23 shots this season with 14 on goal, three assists and one goal, which came against West Georgia.
