Apply for Pensacola Chirstmas Parade The 2012 Cox Pensacola Christmas Parade will be held Dec. 8 at 5:15 p.m. in downtown Pensacola. Applications are now being accepted for groups, floats and marching bands to participate in the festivities and may be found on the parade website at www.coxpensacolachristmasparade.org. Entry fees must be received no later than Nov. 24, with verification of entry position by Dec. 1. Navarre Garden Club workshop The Navarre Garden Club is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Day Centerpiece Workshop on Nov. 20. The workshop is to be conducted from 9:30 a.m. – noon at the Navarre Elks Club on Elk’s Way behind the Shrimp Basket. This workshop is an outreach to the Navarre community by the garden club. Garden club members will give instruction in designing a centerpiece for Thanksgiving during the workshop. ACT/SAT Workshop Students who will be taking the Dec. 1 SAT test and the Dec. 8 ACT test are invited to a workshop in Gulf Breeze. Line Dance Classes The Santa Rosa Community School will start line dance classes. This 13-week session will be at Hobbs Middle School on Glover Lane in Milton. English as a Second Language classes Santa Rosa Adult School is offering English as a Second Language classes to aid the growing population of non-native English speakers in the area. The classes will teach skills in reading, writing and speaking English. The program’s goal is to help students function effectively in their daily routines. Classes are $30 per term with proof of Florida residency for the last 12 months. The classes are $120 per term without proof of residency. Daughter's of the American Colonists A new Daughter's of the American Colonists Chapter is being organized in our area.
