Saturday, 8:40 p.m. Hey this is Gene, a disabled veteran in Pace. I just went to see The Last Ounce of Courage. I recommend everybody to go see this movie before we lose our freedoms. When I went to see the movie there were only six people in the theater, which is pathetic. This is a movie we need to go and support.
Saturday, 2:18 p.m. My name is Amelia. Candidate Mitt Romney says 47 percent of Americans don't pay taxes. What about those in the 47 percent that are past the age to be hired and live off social security after working long and hard to earn it. They take part of their social security to pay for part of their Medicare. After paying for housing, food, insurance, and health care they don't qualify to pay taxes. Speaking of taxes, congress could eliminate the tax shelters, which would end the shortage of tax revenues.
Saturday, 1:42 p.m. Hi this is Susan. I was wondering why the Press Gazette never coverage the Sheriff's Department use of pornography while working on duty. I feel like it was an issued the residents and voters of Santa Rosa County should know. Especially since they are still serving our county despite what they did. Editor's note: Susan, we did not cover this because as when we were made aware of the matter it was almost one year old. Secondly now it is over two years old and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office did not have a procedure in place concerning this. We can tell you every deputy involved was disciplined.
Saturday, 10:46 a.m. On Wednesday Sept. 19 you wrote an article about the end is in sight on Highway 90 with a question mark at the end. That question mark is appropriate as it is now Saturday, I drove through there and they are still working. It was supposed to be done by Saturday is the weather cooperated and we have had beautiful weather. They definitely are not finished. The Press Gazette should put another article in there and see what other lies the DOT will tell us. Editor's note: If you missed the front page of today's paper, we did just that.
Saturday, 8:28 a.m. Yes, I just want to say if it is true the troops are coming home from Afghanistan and welcome home. There are plenty of empty houses in the country and if they need a house the government should help them with one of these homes. If they need medical help or whatever for themselves or their family they should get it immediately. We need to open our arms for the military and their families. This is the home for them. No more killing. Welcome home.
Saturday, 7:46 a.m. This is Mary a senior citizen. On the news this morning Paul Ryan spoke to a group of seniors and they started booing him. Don't they realize if Obama gets in they will be boo-hooing because of all the lies he has told. Obama is not going to keep his word, he never has. If they love America, freedom of speech, free enterprise, the freedom to bear arms, and have their own America they better wake up and check up. Thank you very much.
Friday, 7:57 a.m. Hey this is Dennis. We have several different religions around the world. I am a Christian. My religion teaches love, forgiveness, mercy, and turn the other cheek. I don't get the Muslim religion. Apparently they teach hate, suppression, and kill.
Friday, 8:54 a.m. I got an e-mail from Senator Bill Nelson that the Senate and House will go under Obamacare in 2014. Quit lying to us. We know better than that.
Friday, 8:52 a.m. This is Tony from Pace. Obama signed into law HR 347, which makes free speech a felony where secret service agents are present. If you go see Michelle Obama and yell your husband's Obamacare stinks you can be arrested. You no longer have free speech. Way to go President Obama. God bless you and God bless America.
Thursday, 4:21 p.m. Several traffic lights in Milton need adjusting and lets start with the one at the Shell State on the Highway 89 Bypass. go south and the rest of them all the way to Highway 90 do not work properly. They are gas wasters. Traffic can sit and nothing is moving in four directions. And the one at Pensacola State College on Highway 90, if you drive up just as it goes red for you, you could take a nap before you get the green light. What amazes me is these lights are seen by the Mayor, policemen, highway patrol, emergency vehicles, and apparently no one wants to do anything to correct the problem. Maybe if we had a strong mayor like Pensacola something could be done about it. Why don't we show a little progress in Milton rather than accepting the status quo and permit progress to pass us by?
